I'm a UX designer now, but I spent most of my career in graphic design.
I was a graphic designer for close to 20 years before moving into UX about four years ago. That background still shows up in my work. I care about typography, layout, hierarchy, and the details that make something feel finished. UX just changed what I think about before I get to that part.
A lot of my work now is figuring out why something is harder than it needs to be. Sometimes that means redesigning an experience. Sometimes it means digging into a process that has way too many manual steps and figuring out a better way to handle it.
I've gotten pretty interested in AI for that reason. I use it when it can save someone from repetitive work or help get through a large amount of information faster. I don't think every problem needs AI, and a couple of the projects on this site came from figuring out that the better solution was something much simpler.
Most of the work here is from large enterprise environments, so the problems are rarely neat. There are old systems, existing processes, technical limitations, and a lot of people involved. I like that kind of work.
Outside of UX, I'm still a designer at heart. I like making things, figuring out how things work, and probably spending too much time fixing something that annoys me.
